FG4K-1200G-90G-NG Incremental Encoder – Custom Replacement for Heavy-Duty Metallurgical Applications

A few days ago, we just published an article on the older model FG4K-1000G-90G-NG. Recently, a customer inquired about a replacement for the FG4K-1200G-90G-NG. In reality, these two are essentially the same product, with the only difference being the number of pulses.

This time, the customer is a steel mill that urgently needs spare parts to solve a problem. They encountered delivery issues in procurement and, upon the recommendation of their technical staff, commissioned us to process an alternative product.

The alternative solution for this product is relatively easy to resolve, especially since we have developed similar products before. We can produce the corresponding aluminum alloy structural components based on our past development foundations, and our technical personnel need to adjust the circuit part, setting the pulses to 1200 ppr (pulses per revolution). This will achieve a perfect replacement.

The custom order for this commission went very smoothly. The machining center's equipment had the previous development data, which could be directly imported for production. From commissioning to delivery, it took only 6 working days, reducing the delivery cycle to the extreme. Of course, not all custom orders are this urgent. This time, it was mainly because the customer was in a great hurry.

Let me add, the main part of the FG4K-1200G-90G-NG encoder is a B10 European-style flange. Then there is the pulse of 1200 ppr. The other parts are relatively simple for us and seem unnecessary to mention. We are so familiar with making them that sometimes when writing articles, it feels "like pulling out all the stops."

Our approach to these types of encoder commissions is fundamentally problem-solving oriented. After all, orders for such encoders are not frequent, usually just three to five units at a time. Our mission is just that: whenever you come to us, we will do our utmost to help solve the problem.

It can be seen that such small quantities of non-standard products are not our profit products. Large quantities of standard products are our main offerings. But that's okay, as long as there is a need, we are still happy to provide help.
