The FG4K-1024G-90G-NG is an incremental encoder introduced by Hubner, belonging to the previous generation of products. This model has now become essentially obsolete.
However, there are still some devices that require corresponding spare parts for replacement. In fact, the official model has been upgraded, but many customers are not aware and simply wish to use the same encoder product as before. Recently, we encountered such a customer who hoped we could help solve an alternative application plan.
This encoder features a B10 flange with a size of 115mm. We have previously customized and produced similar products, with the only difference being the pulse count. This encoder has a pulse count of 1024 ppr (pulses per revolution), whereas we have done 1000 ppr in the past. For us, this is not a significant challenge. Once we address the pulse count, we can achieve an identical replacement.
Our machining center still retains the previous production data and drawings, allowing us to conveniently manufacture the corresponding hardware products. Our technical staff resolves the circuitry issues and properly handles the corresponding pulses. With these adjustments, the replacement encoder is considered nearly a perfect substitute.
The customer is a steel enterprise that uses this type of encoder quite frequently, and with the preparation of spare parts, they require about seven or eight units this time. Such small-volume orders can easily be resolved and delivered within a month.
Since last year, we have also received inquiries from customers seeking customization for other products in this model series. Additionally, there is the issue of the official delivery time, which is lengthy for unknown reasons, causing many customers to be unable to wait.
We plan to prepare more hardware inventory in the second half of the year to accommodate customers with urgent needs. This will depend on our production schedule, and if we can spare some time, we will produce some spare parts for export.
