This is a Profibus-DP protocol absolute encoder introduced by TWK, with a resolution of 4096*4096. Within the past three to five years, it has been quite challenging to procure this encoder domestically. It is rumored to have been discontinued, but this cannot be confirmed at present.
Looking at the trend of encoder development, Profibus encoders are gradually being replaced by encoders with other protocols. Currently, the demand for such encoders is mostly in the spare parts market.
The CRD65-4096R4096C2Z01 encoder features a 12mm solid shaft, a 64.5mm flange, and a 45mm boss. Armed with these dimensions, we can formulate an alternative solution.
We first create a corresponding flange according to the size using a machining center, then machine the corresponding solid shaft. Finally, we match it with our 58mm series encoder housing. In this way, we can solve the external substitution.
Next, using our well-developed Profibus-DP circuit design, we adjust and install it with the help of technical personnel. The final step is to complete the alternative design.
The difference is that the original product sometimes lacks a base connector, while our customized product comes with a standard-matched base connector.
In other words, we have completed the alternative solution using a 64.5mm flange combined with a 58mm outer diameter.
This solution has been widely applied in the metallurgical industry in recent years, and the feedback has been very good. As long as the technical personnel can replace the GSD file, it will be a perfect match. It must be said that some company technicians really do not know how to import GSD files. That issue is another matter.
