This replacement is ideal for maintenance and retrofit applications where maintaining PROFIBUS DP communication and mechanical compatibility is essential. By preserving the electrical interface, shaft configuration, and mounting dimensions, the replacement encoder can be installed directly into existing systems without changes to PLC configuration or fieldbus wiring, ensuring fast and precise multi-turn position feedback.

Model CEV582M-10167 is a multi-turn absolute rotary encoder with PROFIBUS DP interface, delivering 8,192 steps per revolution and 4,096 revolutions. It features binary code output and is parameterizable via the PROFIBUS interface for flexible integration. The encoder operates on a wide 10–30 V DC supply, with a robust ZB36 flange, solid 10 mm D-cut shaft (19.5 mm length), and radial M12 and M16 cable gland connectors. Designed for industrial environments, it offers IP65 protection, an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +75 °C, and optional compatibility as a direct substitute for C_58 series units. The unit also meets UL approvals for USA and Canada and provides a MTTFd ≥ 100 years.
