This is an explosion-proof absolute encoder from P+F, specifically the 78E series, which operates on the Profibus communication protocol and is a multi-turn absolute encoder.
Recently, a customer inquired about an alternative solution for the model PVM78E-011K2R0BN-1213. In fact, we have a completely matching solution for the substitution of this type of product.
Among our standard products, we have developed an explosion-proof absolute encoder series with a 78mm diameter. Take this model, for example; it features a clamping flange with a solid shaft, a shaft diameter of 10mm, 2m radial cable exit, and is made of aluminum alloy. The resolution is 4096*8192.
This type of multi-turn absolute encoder is a model with high demand, with previous customers purchasing around 100 units at a time. Since the launch of this series of products, it has been highly favored by customers. This is because we can not only fully substitute but also shorten the delivery time. I believe shortening the delivery time is one of our significant advantages, especially since doing business in China is centered around customer needs.
Of course, this time the customer's demand is relatively small, only 12 units. Due to the urgency of the customer's production line needs, we managed to deliver within three working days.
The alternative for this model is not considered a non-standard product. For us, it is a standard product, with the difference being that our standard product is made of stainless steel, which is superior in material quality. If a customer indeed requires an aluminum alloy material, we can also manufacture it.
For the alternative solution of this encoder, there is not much difference in usage from the original product. However, it is necessary to be able to use the GSD file, which is a basic requirement.
